Spinel Mogok Valley, Mogok Township Pyin-Oo-Lwin District, Mandalay Region (Mandalay Division) Myanmar This is a colossal Spinel crystal from the famous Mogok region of Myanmar. It weighs a stout 947 grams and displays a crisp octahedral form. The faces are flat, albeit not smooth, but, considering the size, it is still impressive. The color is a rich "ruby red" coloration with patches of orangey-pink throughout. Despite its "rough" appearance, this large crystal still displays nice areas of luster and "gemminess." This is a superlative example of a complete crystal from a renowned location.
