This painting depicts a colorful composition with a central vertical, tree-like form set in a nonspecific landscape. Two white wrists and hands reach out from either side, adding a unique visual element. The title of the piece is incorporated into the composition itself. The work measures approximately 96" x 72" x 2". It is signed and dated on the stretcher verso "Squeak C. Dec.81". Come with original receipt from Fuller Goldeen Gallery, San Francisco. Dated August 22nd, 1983. Included with this lot is the artist's book "Painting Is No Ordinary Object" with dedication to John A. Williams. Signed "Squeak". This item originates from the estate of John A. Williams, a distinguished philanthropist and renowned collector. Mr. Williams and his partner Dewitt Hart were influential members of San Francisco's art society and were celebrated for their discerning taste in modern, ethnographic, and fine art. Over the years, they hosted numerous exhibitions in their home, showcasing their prestigious collection to appreciative audiences. All proceeds of items from this estate benefit the Hart Williams Rainbow Fund, a nonprofit working with the LGBTQIA+ community in the San Francisco Bay Area.
