Stanislav Tuma was a Czech photographer. He started with professional photography in 1969. In the early days the topics were mostly from the Czech music scene, theatre and architecture. In 1981 he settled in Sweden and later in Amsterdam. He soon exhibited in European museums and galleries (Canon Photo) In the Netherlands, he published his first photo book "Vrouwen," with poems by Jaroslava Seiferta. In spring of 1990 he finally returned to Prague, where he published the book "suburbium Pragense'. The book was awarded the title of 'The Best Photographic publication of the year 1997'. His book, "Prager Motive" won the prize in 2004. Not long after that he passed away. He was only 55 years old.
