His left hand the vitarka-gesture or the raiko’in gesture of welcoming the souls of the departed to his Paradise (Jōdō or Sanskrit: Sukhavati) . The right hand in de giving varada-gesture pointing to the ground. Late Edo period. In nice original condition. When shipped we will add a certificate of authenticity.
