NO RESERVE Zushi/Traveling Shrine - Wood - Antique Japanese Traveling Shrine (Signed) - Japan - Edo Period (1600-1868) Very good condition, see description - 24×9×11 cm Fantastic, highly detailed and carved, antique traveling shrine. Detailed metal trim on the front doors, base, and sides. Wooden case. Case figure can be taken out of the shrine. The statue is signed on the back as seen in the photos. There appear to be 3 characters or kanji. I can make out the first two as: 淺子 . Wear and loss commensurate with great age including losses to the gilt and paint as seen in photos. Chips and losses throughout the piece. Nothing major. The lacquer on the case itself has flaked off in some areas which is normal due to great age. Please carefully examine the photos. They are part of the description. Please READ below before bidding. We do our best to disclose anything that will impact value and / or desirability. Age and description stated are our opinions based on over 30 years experience in selling antiques. All items are sold "as is". You the buyer are ultimately responsible for agreeing or disagreeing with our opinions BEFORE placing a bid. Shipping charges have tripled since last week and the advent of Covid19 cases in Europe and America.
