This figurine is composed of two figures: a man with an important crest, riding his horse. He is holding a spear in his right hand. His mount is harnessed with a halter. Among the Senufo, the horseman figure is named Syonfolo, meaning “master of the horse”. This type of sculpture is used on the occasion of divination rituals. Considered like an object of prestige, the rider refers to the symbol of the bush spirits.
