Stereo Sliding-Box Camera, post-1901
Germany. Walnut body with brass fittings; for 8.5 x 17 cm plates. Focus is set to infinity on the ground glass at a 3 cm extension; the ground glass retracts when the double plate holder is inserted. The front panel has vertical rise and fall adjustments; the shutter (with "M" and "Z" settings) is cocked by turning the knob and released by pressing it. Landscape lenses approx. 16/17 cm focal length, with apertures (f/16, 22, 32, 44, and 64). Disassembly reveals an internal wooden light shield for the double plate holder that slides within a cardboard frame, the light-tight sleeve is made of wood and slides within a cardboard frame; the exterior of this frame was reinforced during manufacture with German-language newspaper, which allows for precise dating. The camera appears never to have been used. In excellent condition.

Rückseitig bei 3 cm Auszug ist auf der Mattscheibe unendlich; bei Einschieben der Doppelkassette bewegt sich die Mattscheibe zurück. Frontteil hoch und tief verstellbar, Verschluß "M" und "Z" wird durch Drehen des Knopfs gespannt, durch Drücken des Knopfs wird ausgelöst. Landschaftsobjektive etwa 16/17 cm, Schiebeblenden 16, 22, 32, 44 und 64. Beim Auseinandermontieren ist innen ein Doppelkasten-Lichtschutz aus Holz, der in einem Rahmen aus Karton gleitet. Dessen Außenseite wurde bei der Herstellung mit deutschsprachigem Zeitungspapier verstärkt, das erlaubt die genaue zeitliche Zuordnung. Kamera wurde wohl nie benutzt. Sehr gut erhalten.
