Sterling Silver Mounted Meerschaum and Amber Cigarette Holder

Late 19th or early 20th century smoking accessory featuring a meerschaum body and an amber mouthpiece. The cream-colored meerschaum section is fitted with sterling silver mounts at the rim and ferrule, each decorated with repousse and chased foliate scrollwork. The rim of the meerschaum section is struck with three small rectangular punches. The translucent amber mouthpiece is threaded and screws into the body. Accompanied by a fitted presentation case with a textured burgundy exterior and a silk and velvet-lined interior. The interior silk lid is stamped with a circular logo containing the letters AOC. Thermo Scientific Niton XL2 XRF Precious Metal Analyzer tested.
