Offered here for your consideration is a sterling silver overlay and high grade turquoise necklace by Alfred Joe. This necklace features a central pendant highlighted with a turquoise cabochon with great webbing set in a smooth silver bezel. Accenting the stone is a shadow box background with overlay and textured patterns. The neckline is filled with 10 pendants with matching silver designs. The pendants are linked with a strand of sterling silver beads and tips at the ends. The beads are strung on foxtail wire. This piece would look beautiful alone or layered with other necklaces. MAKER: Hallmarked A J inside a horse shoe (conjoined, stacked and stamped). Alfred Joe (1950-; Navajo). Active since 1970s. Multiple award winner. 2001 and 2009 IACA artist of the year.
APPROX AGE: Fairly Modern.
SIZE: This necklace measures approximately 27 inches from end to end and the central pendant measures 1 1/4 inches across at the widest point x 1 1/2 inches from top to bottom. The other pendants each measure 1 inch across at the widest part x 1 inch from top to bottom. The total weight for this item is 152.1 grams.
