Offered here for your consideration is a sterling silver and turquoise concho belt by Victor Moses Begay. The belt features 10 butterfly conchos, nine oval conchos and a matching buckle. Each is highlighted with several turquoise cabochons set in sawtooth silver bezels. Accenting the stones are hand stamped patterns, repousse and scalloped edges. The conchos are on a black supple leather belt. *NOTE: Two stones are missing. Please see pictures for details. Add it to your collection by bidding now!
MAKER: Hallmarked V.M.B (stamped). Victor Moses Begay (?-deceased; Navajo). Active since the 1950s.
APPROX AGE: Fairly Modern.
SIZE: The overall length measures 45 inches long. The oval conchos measure 2 inches wide x 2 3/4 inches tall. The butterfly conchos measure 3/4 inch wide x 2 3/4 inches tall. The buckle measures 2 1/2 inches wide x 2 inches tall and fits a 7/8 inch belt. The total weight is 240.0 grams.
CONDITION: Good for its age with normal wear and minor imperfections expected. NOTE: Two stones are missing from the butterfly conchos.
