Relatively few pressed glass statuettes and ornamental pieces were made at Steuben. Nearly all produced from about 1928 to 1932, these consisted mainly of inserts for flower blocks.., relief-decorated panels and grilles, and decorative intaglio panels usually sold with supporting bases of glass or metal….The last named also included a portrait head of Washington (Catalog No. 7452) and of Lincoln (Catalog No. 7491). At page 52 of Garder is a picture III.89, of Gutzon Borglum, sculptor of Mt. Rushmore memorial c. 1937 showing Carder with a casting of a model of Lincoln’s head, a prototype for Mr. Rushmore.
