Iridized lead glass with applied ornament.
Shape 573, style J (p. 253 Paul V. Gardner book.
“Aurene 573" engraved factory signature on bottom; in addition complete round, serrated paper
label with addition of handwritten number.

In Ericsson, A Guide to Colored Steuben Glass 1903-1933, Book Two p. 103 the author discusses platinum as a silvery appearing tone. Very few objects were crafted displaying this type of iridescence. Those we have noted are principally from the period 1909-1913. It is distinguished by its strength of tonality in that it does not assume highlights of other colors as can be noted in Gold and Blue Aurene. The general cast is silvery with only a suggestion of blue.
