Technique: Oak, walnut, maple polished.
Description: Tall and slender box with fine floral inlays. A bird flying over a floral arrangement in
the centre of the front. Richly decorated, fire-gilded front plate with openwork
decorative elements, dolphins and mascarons. The ring dial with Roman hours and Arabic
minute track. Small second under the XII and date display above the VI. Eight-day movement
with hour strike on a bell.
Measurement: Ca. 249x43x24cm.
Mark: Inscribed on the front panel: "Steven Hoogendijk Rotterdam" (1698-1788, Loomes p.388).
