The case of this pocket watch is exquisitely ornamented. Front and back as well as pendant and band are decorated with floral engraving and opaque enamelling. The miniature portrait on the spring lid is of supreme quality. It shows a little girl in a white dress with her hair done in period style curl with a middle parting. The painting is framed by a white Champlevé enamel border against a light blue opaque background, which is repeated on the back, where it frames an exquisite central oval enamel miniature showing a view of Lake Geneva with Castle Chillon and the Mont Blanc in the background.
