Dimensions: Sight 13.25 x 9.5, Frame 20 x 16 inches.
Medard Klein (American, 1905 ? 2002), studied at the Art Institute, at the National Academy of Art, and at the Chicago Studio School of Art in 1920s. From the late 1930s Klein worked in an abstract, and his early figurative work is exceptionally rare. Klein exhibited at The National Academy of Design, The Brooklyn Museum, The Carnegie Institute, The San Francisco Museum of Art, The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and the Art Institute of Chicago. Klein was exhibited among several American painters at the 1948 Paris exhibition Realites Nouvelles. Reference: Richard Norton, Medard Klein (1905-2002) Catalogue, 2005.
