Strongbox (1) - Iron (wrought) - Early 18th century
Beautiful authentic Strong Box from the early 18th century. Ingenious lock mechanism to open the box and a second lock with key for a small inner compartment. The box is completely handmade, original ironwork. The photos clearly show how beautifully the mechanism works. On the chest you can still see the original painted decoration that shows a decor of leaves. There is also gold in the decor. It takes some restoration to bring the decor back to its original state. The box has a length of 88 cm with a height and depth of both 39 cm. Built extremely solid and still of very high quality after a few hundred years. See the photos for a correct impression of this beautiful craft.
