The present painting relates to a work by Rubens, executed in 1612/14, in the Palazzo Durazzo Pallavicini, Genoa. Another version is in the Martin von Wagner Museum at the University of Würzburg. On the left side of these two paintings is an additional figure of a Bacchante. The composition is also visible in its entirety on two cabinet paintings by David Teniers II, showing the celebrated gallery of Archduke Leopold Wilhelm in Brussels. One of these is in the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna, the other is in the Staatsgalerie in Schloss Schleißheim near Munich.
