Stunning Egyptian alabaster canopic lid of Imsety
A stunning Egyptian alabaster canopic lid depicting Imsety, New Kingdom, c. 1570 - 1075 BC, wearing a tripartite headdress, his features handsomely carved in fine style. H: 5 5/8 in (14.4 cm). Beautifully preserved with light deposits. Imsety was the human-headed son of Horus that protected the liver of the deceased. Ex collection of a Manhattan, New York professor, acquired in the 1970's.
