Stunning Hallstatt Bronze Torc Necklace

Ancient Central Europe, Germany and Austria, Danube River Basin, Hallstatt culture, ca. 8th to 6th century BCE. A beautiful bronze torc (torq, torque) necklace with a broad circular form, incised decorative striations along the center and most of the arms, and hooked terminals that still latch together. This torc is of a generous size which would fit most necks, and the beautiful green and blue-green patina enveloping its surfaces further accentuates its attractive appeal. Size: 7.3" Diameter (18.5 cm)

Provenance: The Dere Family Collection, New York, USA, assembled 1970's-2000's; ex-Neil Phillips Collection, New York, USA, acquired in 1980's
