A compelling and heavily stylized carved stone hacha (ceremonial axe), hand-sculpted from a dense, granular volcanic stone matrix. The profile form mimics a stylized human head or zoomorphic profile characteristically associated with the ceremonial gear of the Mesoamerican ballgame. The piece exhibits prominent, intentionally placed recesses: a deep, smoothly pecked upper circular aperture and a shallow lateral dimple on the lower face. The surface shows an authentic aged patina with scattered mineral deposits, environmental pitting, and subtle asymmetric wear inside the drilled apertures.
