Suite of Eight Italian Giltwood Chairs

18th century, each with a padded back and ribbon- and leaf-carved crest, the molded frames with groove-carved and beaded details, raised on cabriole legs.

Condition Report: In very good restored condition. All chairs exhibit rubbing and wear to the surface, including some scattered gilt and gesso losses, regilding and overpainting. All are tight and sturdy with no movement or play observed in the backs or legs. The legs of all chairs have been professionally ended-out by extending their bases, on the rear legs the new joint is tenoned-in. The upholstery is in very good, approaching excellent, condition.
