Rare prospectus for the Carisa Chemical Company, based in San Francisco, but the fortunes of which were tied to the discovery of a vast field of sulphate of soda in the eastern part of San Luis Obispo County, from which could be manufactured carbonate of soda, bicarbonate of soda, glass, hypo sulphate of soda, and more, all with numerous uses. The cover title reads "Prospectus of the Carisa Chemical Company." The map is titled "Plat of the Property Carisa Chemical Company... containing an area of 2960 acres," and there is an inset map showing its location in central California. OCLC locates only one copy, at Yale University.
Condition Report: A little soiling and wear to wrappers, ink smudge to title page and a few leaves within; very good.
