Superman #4 (DC, 1940) CGC VF+ 8.5 Off-white to white pages. We have never seen a higher graded copy of the second appearance of Lex Luthor, and it's been 13 years since we've seen another VF+ 8.5 copy! Joe Shuster drew the cover (which does not feature Luthor, who still had a full head of red hair at this time). Shuster and Sheldon Moldoff art. Just two copies have been granted higher grades by CGC to date. Overstreet 2022 VF 8.0 value = $8,000; VF/NM 9.0 value = $14,500. CGC census 3/23: 8 in 8.5, 2 higher.
