[Suffrage] Susan B. Anthony, and others (approximately 40) signatures. C.1878-1898 autographs in an autograph album. Collected by Lena Habel in Chicago, Illinois. Habel appears to have frequented lectures hosted by Slayton's Lyceum Bureau. This album includes Susan B. Anthony with inscription "Equal rights for women-civil and political-is the demand of yours sincerely" (Chicago, 1879) , Charles DeRudio (Charles Camillo DeRudio was an Italian aristocrat, would-be assassin of Napoleon III, and later a career U.S. Army officer who fought in the 7th U.S. Cavalry Regiment at the Battle of the Little Bighorn), Will Carelton (William McKendree Carleton was an American poet from Michigan. Carleton's poems were most often about his rural life), Paul Du Chaillu (French-American traveler, zoologist, and anthropologist. He became famous in the 1860s as the first modern European outsider to confirm the existence of gorillas, and later the Pygmy people of central Africa), S.M. Wright, Harry H Thomas, O.F. Dodge, Henry L. Slayton, H.G. Swisher (abolitionist), C.G. Foster, J. Hanford, George B. Griffing, Augustus Jacobson, Jas. R. Davis, Frank W. Raymond, Belle Lewis, David Swing (well known preacher who was the pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Chicago and a well-known confidant of Mary Lincoln, Asa B. Hutchinson (musician known for raising money for abolitionist movement at his concerts), George R. Wendling, J.G. Davidson, James Ray Applebee, George W. Bailey (possibly also known as Tank Kee), Eduard Remenyi (Ede Rem?nyi or Eduard Rem?nyi was a Hungarian violinist and composer), E.R. Paige, Julie M. Park, Stella Stewart, Vivia Foote. Pages measure 4.625 x 7.5 inches. These autograph album pages are loose from binding. If lot is absent of a condition report one may be requested via email. Condition report is provided as an opinion only and is no guarantee as grading can be subjective. We will charge for labor to pack and process based on actual time it takes, actual cost of materials used to pack and actual shipper charges that will include insurance and signature required. We generally use USPS and Fed Ex and compare the pricing between the two. Books maximum box size will be 14x14x14 inch or equivalent and will be shipped USPS Media Mail unless otherwise requested. We gladly will give shipping estimates prior to auction. Please make this request at least 24 hours prior to auction for our shipping department to respond. If your invoice is for multiple items, we will use our discretion on requiring the use of an outside shipper.
