Sweden and Norway, Queen Desideria, 1818–1844, medal commemorating her coronation the 21 August 1829, probably struck in 1833, by medalist L.P. Lundgren, Hild. 3, 58 mm, 173.38 g, very lightly brushed. Splendid condition and with royal provenance - a truly marvelous and extremely rare huge piece of medallic art with the bust of Bernardine Eugénie Désirée Clary 1777–1860, who e.g. was fiancée of Napoleon Bonaparte for a short period in 1795 and later became Crown Princess and Queen of Sweden and Norway.

Ex. purchased December 1928 from the estate of Danish Queen Louise 1906–1912, born as Princess of Sweden-Norway and lived 1851–1926.
