Swedish M96 Mauser Bolt Action Rifle 6.5x55 Swedish
This Swedish M96 bolt action rifle was made in 1899 by Waffenfabrik Mauser Oberndorf and chambered in 6.5x55 Swede. The rifle features a dovetailed blade front sight and adjustable rear sight on a 29" barrel fitted with a muzzle brake. This rifle, like most Swedish rifles, was threaded to use blank firing adaptors. The rifle has most matching parts with the exception of the upper and lower barrel band. The matching bolt has a straight handle and rear flag safety. The receiver is marked "Waffenfabrik Mauser Oberndorf 1899" with a GF proof and Mauser bolt release. The stock houses a 26" screw in cleaning rod and fitted with sling swivels below the stock and capped with a steel butt plate. The grip of the stock is marked with a crown B Proof mark. Import marks below the barrel read "M96 Swede 6.5x55, CAI ST Alb, VT". LOP: 14". CALIBER/GA: 6.5x55. S/N: 26338. FFL: Curio & Relic.
