Ogni incisione è contenuta in un triangolo sotto il quale compaiono nomi di disegnatore e incisore, numero della tavola, legenda in caratteri gotici con descrizione del soggetto raffigurato. Lievi tracce d’uso, buon esemplare.
Edizione originale. Sono raffigurati, in 75 belle tavole disegnate da Jakob Schwegler e impresse in litografia dai fratelli Carl-Martin et Bernhard Egli, i dipinti che ornano Il Ponte della Cappella di Lucerna. Il Kapellbrücke, il più antico ponte coperto d’Europa, è il simbolo di Lucerna. Fu costruito nel XIV secolo e originariamente faceva parte della fortificazione della città. I pannelli triangolari in legno con le tavole che rappresentano scene della storia della Svizzera e della città furono inseriti nel XVII secolo. The paintings, commissioned by Renward Cysat and begun about 1614 by Hans Heinrich Wägmann, depict the history of the city and of the medieval Swiss Confederation and display the heraldic shields of their various donors.” L’opera, che uscì nel 1828 in sette fascicoli, come indicato nella prefazione “7 Heften”, è un’importante fonte dell’arte poiché i dipinti che si ammirano oggi sono solo delle copie: gli originali sono andati distrutti in un disastroso incendio. Original edition. Are depicted, in 75 beautiful plates drawn by Jakob Schwegler and imprinted in lithography by brothers Carl-Martin et Bernhard, the paintings that adorn the Bridge of the Chapel in Lucerne. The Chapel Bridge, the oldest covered bridge in Europe, is the symbol of Lucerne. It was built in the fourteenth century and was originally part of the city fortifications. The triangular panels with wooden boards depicting scenes from the history of Switzerland and the city were included in the seventeenth century.
