Syamsu Syamsu Rizal was born on April 24, 1959 in Metro Lampung, the Southern part of Sumatra, Indonesia. He attended the Faculty of Agriculture of UNSRI during 1977-1979 in Palembang, South Sumatra. Syamsu started painting through self-study and has painted seriously since 1987 in Yogyakarta. In 1989 he moved to Bali and stayed in Ubud, the town of Art. In 1996 and 1997 works of Syamsu were exhibited at ”Classics ” in Kortrijk and The Hague Art Fair, the Netherlands and at The Art Fair in Leuven, Belgium. His works are recognized as expressions of dynamic poetry, created from the very inside of his emotions. Source: notes of the owner
