Description: Folio: [80, incl. engr. title and portrait]-356-[4]-303 pp.; 65 pl. (of 66) (1 pl. of geometry part. cut out, occ. soiling or dampstaining, tear in lower margin Cc5 and 1 plate fold). - Collected writings of the Antwerp Jesuit mathematician Tacquet (1612-1660), dealing with astronomy, geometry, optics, military architecture. Engraved title and portrait of Cardinal Rospigliosi (dedicatee) by Richard Collin. 65 folding plates. The flyleaf bears a possible ex dono of the editor Veteranus with the date 1668 (?). A label (very used) on the spine remembers this with the inscription: "DD VE[TER?]ANI" (= "Given by Veterani"). - Ref. STCV. - DBS VII:1810:7. - Prov. Simon Laurentius Veteranus (?) (ex dono, dated 1668). - "Gerardus Lenssens gave this book to his nephew M. Lenssens" (ex dono, dated 11.5.[16]99). - "R. Fabri" (ms. ownership entry, 17th c.). - "Wandon, Maastricht" (ms. entry ownership, Maastricht, 15.9.1728). - Provostship of Meersen (Low Countries, South-Limburg) (bookpl. and ms. ownership entry, 18th c.).
