TAFT, WILLIAM HOWARD
Eight typed letters signed, two as President, written to Judge Alphonse T. Clearwater. Eight letters from Taft to Judge Clearwater, the first two written as President on White House stationery and dated January & February 1911; two are written on Taft's personal stationery and dated December 1916 and January 1917; and four are written on Supreme Court of the United States stationery and dated from February 1922 to 6 July 1929, one with manuscript postscript "May you live long and prosper", these the largest at 10 1/2 x 8 inches (27 x 20 cm). Usual folds, one presidential letter with the signature badly bled, one toned and spotted, other light signs of handling.

A cordial group of letters from Taft. Also present is a printed message from President Taft regarding a dinner in his honor at the Pennsylvania Society, 1911.
