Length is 3.64 inches. Frog head brow. Spirit portals drilled at elbows. Hands curl under chin to base. Made from a beautiful translucent marble found only on the Samana peninsula of the Dominican Republic. Glows when held under light. Symbolic engraving gently worn from ritual handling. Base has the interlocking bird head design. Cemi/stamps are another religious artifact so far only found in the Dominican Republic. From a private collection curated by Larry Roberts author of 2 Taino art history books. The Taino culture existed from 800-1500 AD. This lot has a reserve.
