TEA BOWL AND SAUCER WITH AUGSBURG "HAUSMALER" DECORATION Meissen, ca. 1720, painted ca. 1725 by Abraham Seuter after copper engravings by Johann Elias Ridinger.
Painted with animal scenes in iron-red camaïeu, the tea bowl with a resting dog on one side and a hound on the other side, the saucer with a slain deer with its hind legs resting between a broken tree trunk, both scenes on a gold lace console, the rims decorated with foliage and strapwork borders in gold. Underglaze blue sword mark and potter's mark ** for Christian Meynert on the tea bowl.
H 4.5 cm, Ø 13 cm.
