TEN SILVER-PLATED BIRD FIGURE NAPKIN RINGS
America, late 19th century,
1. Napkin ring mounted between two opposing spread-wing eagles on rectangular base, impressed with mark of Meriden Britannia Co. (Meriden, Connecticut, 1852-98), no. 146.
2. Napkin ring engraved "Emma" arranged in configuration identical to item 1, impressed with mark of Rogers, Smith & Co. (Meriden, Connecticut, 1857-77), no. 146.
3. Napkin ring identical to items 1 and 2, with seal mark of Rogers & Bro. (Waterbury, Connecticut, 1858-98), no. 146.
4-5. Two napkin rings soldered against chick figure with floral sprig bracket, one impressed with mark of Rogers, Smith & Co., and both marked no. 297.
6. Quilt-pattered ring soldered to cast figure of a chick, unsigned with impressed no. 78.
7. Napkin ring inscribed "A.F.C. / to / R.L.F." hangs from a tree branch below a perched owl, mounted on stepped base impressed with mark of Hartford Silver Plate Co. (Hartford, Connecticut, 1882-93), no. 028.
8. Molded log-form napkin ring with bird perched on top and raised on a stool base, impressed no. 1585, unsigned.
9. Parakeet figure perched beside napkin ring, all mounted on unusual bamboo and rattan-patterned base, impressed with mark of E.G. Webster & Bro. (New York, New York, 1875-86), no. 167.
10. Waisted napkin ring with bird perched on top mounted beside group of three smaller birds on a beveled and reeded base, impressed with mark of Rockford Silver Plate Co. (Rockford, Illinois, 1882-1925), no. 197.
