The story is of a protracted criminal trial in Tennessee and of a mob vengeance and of a prisoner (Negro) taken away from the Sheriff and hanged by a band of law-abiding citizens. A printed full page circular advertising the second edition, explaining contents of the book from two reviews From the Nashville American and the Clarksville Leaf-Chronicle laid in. Also includes: A tipped-in printed Presentation Slip "Please accept this book with best wishes of Author, November 2, 1903. Red/black cloth, gilt lettered, gilt decoration on spine, TEG; (top edge gilt) in next to new condition. Remarkably very bright, fresh and clean book. ; Photographic frontis. 359 pages.
