gilded full plate movement, verge escapement, cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, automaton driven by a separate spring barrel and train, white enamel dial, Arabic numerals, outer minute ring, signed Chevalier et Cochet, the reverse with automaton scene depicting vari-colour gold figures of a knife grinder at his stone, his apprentice turning a large wheel, turning glass rod simulating water, small windmill with rotating sails in the distance, plain gold case with glazed covers, with a chain and key

Condition Report:
Movement: runs at the time of cataloguing. Automaton not working. One screw holding the movement in place missing, movement loose in the case.
Dial: light scratches and chips around the winding holes
Automaton dial: enamel in good condition. Slight tarnishing to vari-colour gold
Case: with scuffs throughout
