Description: 12mo. - First edition of the poems of Th.S. Moore (1870-1944). Illustrated with 4 woodcuts by Moore, Eragny watermark in green and small black initials by Lucien Pissarro. Eragny's mark on last leaf. Edition limited to 180 unnumbered copies (incl. 10 on vellum),of which 150 paper and 8 vellum were for sale, one of the 150 on Arches hand-made paper. The work is dedicated to Sybil Pye, bookbinder, known for her inlay Art Deco leather bindings. Moore and Pye met in 1899 and became friends. He introduced her to Charles Ricketts and she developed her interest in bookbinding. Moore, Pye, Ricketts, along with Yeats, Laurence Binyon and Ethel formed the Literary Theatre Club. - Ref.
