THIRD REICH SA (STURMABTEILUNG) DRESS DAGGER BY KAUFMANN & SOHNE, SOLINGEN, fine example of a SA dress dagger with deep wooden handle having nickel silver eagle and enamel SA device. Lower cross guard stamped with district stamp ?Wm?. Reverse of the grip carved with the letter ?L? possibly done by the original owner or the GI who brought the dagger home as a souvenir from Europe in 1945. Housed in the anodised scabbard with the lower ball mount being flattened and cracked. Attached to the scabbard is an original single hanging strap. The blade remains in near mint condition with much of the original polish and cross graining. Standard motto ?Alles fur Deutschland?, reverse with makers trademark to the base. Overall a very good example and a hard maker to find.
