Wide ovoid form with shaped rim, leaf-tip double-scroll handle and three scroll legs ending in hoof feet. Underside engraved "T" above "D J", cursive "MP" and "1815". Marked on underside "TH" with a pellet between and in a rectangle. Length 7.5".

Sotheby's Important American Silver Auction, New York, January 21, 2005, Lot #389. Sotheby's notes the sauce boat was exhibited at the Johnson Museum of Art at Cornell University from 1973-2004. S.J. Shrubsole, New York, lists the sauce boat as sold on their website.
