Chinese paintings from the Palace Museum selected and compiled by and editorial committee of the Joint Board of Directors of the National Palace Museum and the National Central Museum. Compiled by: Wang Shijie of the National Palace Museum , Taipei Edition: 1959 Taiwan reprinted edition limited to 1,000 copies No. 462 Description: The paintings and calligraphy collected in the National Palace Museum are universally recognized treasures. "Three Hundred Volumes of Famous Paintings in the National Palace Museum" was written by Wang Shijie, a member of the Standing Committee of the Management Committee of the National Palace Museum in Taipei. Edited in 1959, it contains 35 paintings of the Tang Dynasty, 25 paintings of the Five Dynasties, 84 paintings of the Song Dynasty, 61 paintings of the Yuan Dynasty, 84 paintings of the Ming Dynasty and the early Qing Dynasty, 11 paintings of undetermined eras, two letters, six volumes in total, thread-bound, 6 open. Collect the best collection of famous paintings from the National Palace Museum in Taipei. Illustrated plates or ink and color plates are very close to the original paintings. Each painting is accompanied by Chinese and English descriptions, mostly compiled by Zhuang Shangyan, Na Zhiliang, and Wu Yuzhang, detailing the texture, size, content, and title of the painting. As well as the origin, textual research, documentation, historical comments and collection imprints are clearly listed. Attached is a biography of the author, briefly describing his painting style and life.
