Meiji era (1868-1912), late 19th/early 20th century
the first of inlaid shakudo in the form of a bamboo node decorated in high relief of bronze and shakudo with a snail and foliage, 1.3cm (½in) high; the second of shibuichi and decorated in high relief of bronze, silver and shakudo with a stylised bird and butterflies, 1.7cm (5/8in) high; the third of bronze decorated with flowers applied in gilt relief floating on a river, 1.6cm (5/8in) high.
