THREE RUSSIAN ICONS 19TH CENTURY. Comprising a group of three Russian icons including Christ as The Lord Almighty (Gospod Vsederzhitel) holding a book of open Gospels to Matthew 11:28 and delivering a blessing. 12.25 inches x 10 inches (31 x 26 cm). Together with a finely painted dated icon in four registers. Clockwise from upper left the images depict, The Kazan Mother of God, Saint Nicholas, the Old Testament Prophet Ezekiel and the Apostle and Evangelist St. John in Silence. The upper margin with the Holy Visage, the right border with Saint Irena. Exceedingly well painted, retaining the original darkened varnish and although with losses to borders worth restoring. Inscribed lower right in Old Church Slavonic and with date code for the year 1827. 12.25 inches x 10 inches (31 x 26 cm). And an icon of St. Nicholas, circa 1890 measuring 12.25 inches x 10.5 inches (31 x 26.5 cm).
