˜THREE SOUTHEAST ASIAN SWORDS (DHA), BURMESE OR THAI, A BURMESE DHA DAGGER, AND TWO CONTINENTAL EPÉES, LATE 19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY

the first with slightly curved single-edged blade, chased silver ferrule and ivory grip (cracked); in its wooden scabbard encased in sheet silver; the second with curved single-edged blade decorated with a slender panel of silver scrollwork at the forte on each face, chased white metal ferule and conical pommel and ivory grip, in its wooden scabbard; the third decorated with silver scrollwork along the greater part of its length on each face, the hilt comprising a white metal ferrule decorated with beadwork and chased conical pommel and the grip formed of sheet copper alloy inlaid with scrollwork and petals; the fourth with short single-edged blade, silver ferrule, ivory grip, in its silver-encased scabbard; the fifth and sixth of characteristic type, each struck with a mark at the forte, figure-of-eight brass hilts ovoid pommels and fishskin-covered grips
