A miniature of the “Znak Pancerny” commemorative badge, depicting a winged, armored arm holding a sword, set against the background of a gear.
The Armored Emblem was established in 1932 as a commemorative badge for soldiers of the Polish Army’s armored forces. It was awarded by the Minister of Military Affairs upon the recommendation of the Commander of the Armored Forces. This symbol was also used on the banners, pennants, and badges of armored units.
The tradition of awarding the Armored Emblem continued during World War II in the Polish Armed Forces in the West. The motif of the armored arm became one of the most important identifying symbols of the Polish armored forces.
The miniature is made of silver-plated metal, openwork, and mounted on a post. It features a large rectangular brass cap, unsigned. Visible wear on the silver plating, patina, and signs of use.
