TIERNEY LEE, GENE Two notes to Oleg Cassini.
The first an autograph note signed "Gene" on a folded sheet of blue stationery, dated 18 May 1980, with envelope; the second a typed letter signed "Gene" on one sheet of her monogrammed stationery, dated 8 August 1988, with envelope, this letter 7 3/4 x 5 3/4 inches. Usual folds, fine.
Cassini met and married then Hollywood Star Gene Tierney in 1941 and they divorced in 1946. She married Texas oil baron W. Howard Lee in 1960 and relocated to Houston, living a rather quiet life. The first letter here apologizes for missing the opportunity to see Cassini play a tennis match; the second a note regarding an upcoming trip.
