Condition Report:
Overall in very good condition. When viewed firsthand, the shade displays an intense yellow-orange palette. The fiery background presents with a vibrant contrast to the dragonflies, and the vertical spines of each dragonfly display a different color palette, ranging from seafoam green to emerald to soft red-coral to deep blue. The dragonfly wings are executed in dramatic green-aqua and red glass. The shade with approximately 14 hairline cracks dispersed throughout which have been recently stabilized by a professional glass conservator. The eyes and nose of one dragonfly were recently replaced by a professional Tiffany conservator with well-matched Tiffany glass. The base is in very good condition with scattered minor surface scratches, abrasions, light wear to the patina and minor discolorations, consistent with age and gentle handling. The base with some light surface soiling concentrated to the recessed contours, consistent with age. With period sockets and a period finial in very good condition. A striking example of this desirable and iconic shade pattern with dramatic, vibrant coloration.
