Condition Report:
Overall in very good condition. The bronze surfaces throughout present with a bright gilt surface with scattered minor surface scratches and abrasions, and with some scattered minor discolorations and traces of surface soiling concentrated to the recessed contours, consistent with age and gentle handling. The nautilus shell appears to have been replaced and present with some inherent surface irregularities, not visually detractive. The polished shell surface displays a beautiful iridescence which is complemented by the shell cabochons encircling the base, which also appear to have been replaced at some point in the history of the piece. The polished shell surfaces are slightly irregular, underscoring the naturalism of the piece. With a period socket.
