Property of a Gentleman
TIFFANY STUDIOS
"POINSETTIA" TABLE LAMP

circa 1905-1910
leaded glass, patinated bronze
shade impressed TIFFANY STUDIOS NEW YORK 1556
base impressed Tiffany Studios/NEW YORK/333
19½ in. (49.5 cm) high
14 in. (35.6 cm) diameter of shade

Condition Report:
Overall in very good condition. This charming lamp is executed in a warm and rich amber and deep red-pink color palette with golden ochre accents. The shade with approximately 25 cracks dispersed throughout which have been recently sensitively stabilized by a professional glass conservator, all stable and not visually distracting. The shade with some minor traces of surface soiling concentrated to the contours adjacent to the leadlines, consistent with age. Several tiles around the shade ring appear to have been reset at some point in the history of the piece, with two tiles which have possibly been replaced with well-matched glass. The base is in very good condition with scattered minor surface scratches and light wear to the finish, consistent with age and gentle handling. The outer perimeter of the foot with a shallow dent. With period sockets. With a later reproduction finial in very good condition.

In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Prospective buyers should inspect each lot to satisfy themselves as to condition and must understand that any statement made by Sotheby's is merely a subjective qualified opinion.
NOTWITHSTANDING THIS REPORT OR ANY DISCUSSIONS CONCERNING CONDITION OF A LOT, ALL LOTS ARE OFFERED AND SOLD "AS IS" IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONDITIONS OF SALE PRINTED IN THE CATALOGUE.
