[ translate ]

Property from the Geyer Collection
TIFFANY STUDIOS
TWO INKSTANDS

circa 1910
comprising a "Chinese" and an “American Indian” inkstand
each with clear glass inkwell liners
patinated bronze

"American Indian" inkstand: 3¾ in. (9.5 cm) high
5½ in. (14 cm) diameter

Condition Report:
Overall in very good condition. The bronze surfaces of each inkstand with scattered minor surface scratches, abrasions, and light wear, and with some traces of surface soiling and oxidation concentrated to the recessed contours of the designs, consistent with age and gentle handling. The smaller “American Indian” inkstand with ink residue concentrated mostly to the interior; the larger “Chinese” inkstand with scattered traces of ink residue to the interior and exterior. Each inkstand with a later clear glass liner; one liner present with some occasional minor fleabite flecks to the edges.
