Sharp, highly-defined tintype , 3.5 x 4 in., a portrait of John Seip, the son of Maj. Fred Seip, a member of the Alexandria Rifles, Crescent Regiment, CSA, and both of whom owned and maintained slaves at Oak Island Plantation in Rapides Parish, Louisiana. Presented in a dark brown cardboard case bearing a charming filigree design, with a red padding interior. Included is a note identifying Seip. Overall very good. Ex: Cary Delery, The Historical Shop.
