TOULOUSE LAUTREC ORIGINAL FEMALE PORTRAIT
Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec (1864-1901) French painter, printmaker, draughtsman, caricaturist and illustrator. Best known for his Moulin Rouge Cabaret 1889 opening posters. This graphite on paper rendition of a woman seated was acquired by the Nazi regime in Germany, official stamp (on reverse) dated 1940. Signed on obverse with Lautrec's monogram. Condition: heavy foxing throughout, loss to edges and right top corner, paper is fragile. Subject of portrait intact. Dimensions: 11 1/2 x 15 1/2 inches.
